Canajoharie - Reva B. McGowan, 99, of Arkell Hall of Canajoharie, and former resident of Fort Plain, passed away on Thursday November 30, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, NY.

She was born October 10, 1918 in Fairfield, NY, the daughter of the late Erwin and Blanche (Crossman) Avery. Reva attended the Fort Plain Schools.

Mrs. McGowan was married to Morris McGowan who preceded her in death in 1990.

Reva was an office clerk for the former Beechnut in Canajoharie, working there for over 23 years until she retired. Prior to that she worked at Arkell and Smith's Manufacturing.

A woman devoted to her family, Reva was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her life was centered around her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Lorraine Thomas of Fort Plain; two sisters, Florene Masi of Florida and Agatha Polmateer of Amsterdam; 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

She was pre-deceased by two daughters, Lois Perna and Carol Moore.

Graveside services at the Stratford Cemetery will take place in the spring at a time to be announced. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY 518-568-7040.
