So sorry to hear about Aunt Fran's passing. I had been in the habit of calling her at least every year on her birthday (since we live so far away), and just last week I was thinking about her and had a feeling I should call her again. I am just so glad that I did talk to her so many times in the past few years! Last year on Christmas I called from the annual Arca Christmas family get together (at my sister Lorraine's), and we passed the phone around so everybody could talk to Aunt Fran.

I have so many fond memories of going up to visit Aunt Fran and Uncle Paul in the summer at times when I was growing up. One of my favorite memories was when us Arca boys put a watermelon near one of the trees and told Aunt Fran that we planted a watermelon tree for her. We said "look, you have a watermelon growing already!" She laughed so hard, and it was a talking point that we would discuss during some of my phone calls with her. One of the other things I remember and cherish are all the times that uncle Paul and my dad (Paul Arca; there were lots of Pauls when we visited!) would take us boys hunting for Herkimer diamonds in the hills near their house. It was always fun when we went up to visit, and I will always cherish all of these memories.

As noted above, I kept in touch and called Aunt Fran many times, so I was able to be close to her in these last few years. She was so happy when I told her in 2014 how I was able to go back to Sardinia and meet the rest of our family over there. I would encourage all of my other cousins to go back and visit Pina Arras and the rest of the family in Sardinia (contact me through Facebook and I'll give you details to contact Pina). Aunt Fran stayed with it and was up-to-date on all of the current events; I am going to miss talking to her on St. Patrick's Day in 2018, but I do have all these memories stored up. One last point I'll share is that when we took my youngest daughter Grace up to visit (after she had just been born), Aunt Fran gave her a St. Patrick's Day beanie baby that she had been saving. Grace still has the beanie baby and I've told her about Aunt Fran many times. My older daughter Patrice was with us also on that visit, and Aunt Fran really got to know and love Patrice also. That is just the way that Aunt Fran was - a kind loving Aunt who is going to be missed dearly!

So sorry to hear of Aunt Fran's passing. Will always remember her pancake breakfasts when we visited the farm - and she kept remembering her godson at Christmas well into my adulthood!

Found memories at camp with Aunt Fran and family at the place they built, Will never forget the boat ride...that she reminded me of every time I saw her. Loved her laugh and will cherish the memories of the good times we had. Best childhood memories ever! RIP Aunt Fran
