Herkimer – Clarence E. (Zeke) Knapp, Jr., 87 of Valley Residential, passed away peacefully on Monday November 21, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, NY with his devoted family by his side.

He was born April 11, 1929 in Utica, NY the son of the late Clarence E. and Lena (Wolfen) Knapp, Sr., and was educated in Ilion schools.

His marriage to Livia C. Moschetto took place on November 4, 1950 at St. Anthony’s Church by Reverend Gustav Purticato. The couple shared a loving and blessed union of 67 years until the passing of Livia on May 23, 2016.

 Zeke was owner and operator of Ilion Carpet and Home Care Center until his retirement.

A man dedicated to his family, Zeke always put the needs of his sons and grandchildren first. In his younger years, he was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. In his leisure he was a fan of boxing and NASCAR.

Survivors include his sons, Edward C. Knapp and wife Jan of Frankfort, David M. Knapp and wife Sue of Little Falls, and Daniel P. Knapp and wife Stacey of Woodland Park, Colorado; seven grandchildren, Edward C. Knapp, II and fiancée Jennifer Rowbak of Peru, NY, Richard Knapp and wife Melissa of Canastota, Lisa Savas and husband Paul of Fayetteville, NY, Dave Knapp, Jr., and wife Brandi of Little Falls, Shannon Knapp, Daniel P. Knapp, Jr. and Lena Knapp all of Woodland Park, Colorado; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was pre-deceased by two brothers, Rosco Perrone, Jr. and Harold Perrone, and two sisters, June Lonis and Marjorie Wood.

Family and friends are invited to attend Zeke’s graveside services at Calvary Cemetery in Herkimer, NY at a time to be announced in the spring. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to NBT Bank), 527 East Albany Street, Herkimer, NY 866-1500.
