Wendy Neal Obituary

St. Johnsville - Wendy J. Neal, 60, of St. Johnsville passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, NY.

Wendy was born On June 22, 1961, the daughter of Rose Young and the late Robert Neal. She was a graduate of Oppenheim - Ephratah High School. Wendy graduated with the class of 1979.

Wendy devoted her time and energy to her family, friends, and neighbors. She was dedicated to the lives of her spouse, her children, and her grandchildren. She treasured quality time with her family and was rarely seen without Stevie or a grandchild in tow. Wendy made it her life’s work to be a caring wife and mother and an even more devoted grandmother.  She was a caregiver to many children in the community and loved watching them grow. She spent countless hours volunteering her impeccable organizational skills and precise attention to detail at the Benefit Club helping those in need or planning an event. Wendy was a giver in every sense of the word. She did not look for recognition but was humbled by knowing that her work benefited those that needed it. Along with volunteering, Wendy loved to play cards, work on scrapbooking and shop with her family and friends. She was an incredible cook and loved to decorate for the holidays. Her Christmas Village was a labor of love and a holiday masterpiece.

Survivors include her mother, Rose Young of Schenectady; her devoted companion of 39 years, Stephen Battisti of St. Johnsville; two daughters, Kayla Christensen and husband Trevor of St. Johnsville, and Katie Battisti and Jonathan Perry of St. Johnsville; a son, Stephen A. Battisti of St. Johnsville; three grandchildren, Colten and Kayden Christensen and Connor Perry; a brother Robert Neal and wife Ruth of Ghent, NY; a special aunt, Barbara Neal; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of Wendy's life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY.
