Theresa E. (McMahon) Fleming

Springfield Center, NY - Theresa E. Fleming, 62, of Springfield Center, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 25, 2025, at the Abraham House, Rome, NY, with her devoted husband, Brian, by her side.

She was born on May 18, 1963, in West Babylon, NY, the daughter of the late Edward and Joan (Ott) McMahon. Theresa was a graduate of Amityville High School.

In 1989, Theresa met the love of her life, Brian J. Fleming and they were married on September 25, 1998, in Bayshore, NY.

At one time, Theresa was employed at the East Islip Middles School. She also was employed in the housekeeping department of the Fire Island Motel.

Mrs. Fleming was of the catholic faith.

Theresa was a loving and caring wife, mother, and sister, always putting the needs and concerns of her loved ones first. She cherished the quality time she spent with her grandchildren. Theresa enjoyed cooking for her family and found much tranquility in sewing. In her leisure she enjoyed watching all types of wrestling on TV.

She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Brian; two daughters, Melissa Bennett and Michelle Fleming and Matthew Shepard; two grandchildren, Sylvia Fleming and Elijah Bennett; two sisters, Joan Lumpkin and Linda Marchant; two brothers, Richard McMahon and Steve McMahon and wife Michele; an aunt, Katherine Strickland; two uncles, Eugene Ott and Richard Ott; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Bennett; three sisters, Anna McMahon, Fran Fitzgerald, and Catherine McMahon; and two brothers, Frank McMahon and Edward McMahon.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 5 - 7 pm at the locally owned and family operated Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service (next to Hannaford Markets), 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY. A prayer service will follow at 7:00 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make all memorial contributions to the Abraham House, 417 N. Washington St., Rome, NY 13440. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
