Terry M. Ives

Town of Herkimer - Terry M. Ives, 56, a longtime Herkimer businessman, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on Monday, June 27, 2022, at his home.

 Terry was born on May 12, 1966, in Herkimer the son of Donna (Malowski) Ives and the late Ronald S. Ives. He was a graduate of Herkimer High School, class of 1984, and furthered his education at Herkimer County Community College.

 On October 5, 1996, Terry was united in marriage to Mary D. Reeves at St. Francis de Sales Church in Herkimer by the late Reverend Peter Nabozny.

 Terry started working at Johnsons Decorating Center after high school. In 1996, he became a partner and eventually a sole owner of what is now Johnson's Carpet Plus Colortile and Freeman's Drapery.

 Terry was of the catholic faith. He was a devoted and caring son, husband and friend. Terry was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting with his father, fishing and snowmobiling.

  He is survived by his mother, Donna; his loving wife of 25 years, Mary; a brother, Todd Ives; a niece, Victoria (Tori) Ives; a nephew, Ethon Ives; two aunts, Marilyn Vesp and Debbie Rovazzi; and several cousins. He is also survived by his canine companion, Layla, and cats Kinko, Snickers, and B.C.

 He was pre-deceased by his father, Ronald on October 21, 2021.

 A celebration of Terry's life will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022, at the Herkimer Polish Community Home, South Washington St., Herkimer from 3 to 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make all memorial contributions to a charity of your choosing in Terry's memory.
