Little Falls - Tanya J. (Tucker) George, 52, of Little Falls, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Albany Medical Center, with her loving family by her side.
She was born on May 18, 1972, in Ilion, the daughter of Elaine (Lane) Smaldone and the late Robert L. Smaldone. Tanya was a graduate of Ilion High School and furthered her education at Utica School of Commerce.
On August 1, 2015, Tanya was united in marriage to David W. George at the Stonebridge Golf Course in the town of New Hartford, NY.
Tanya was last employed at the Infection Control Unit at Valley Health Services in Herkimer, NY. Prior to that, she worked at Barringer Road School in the cafeteria and was active in the school’s six to six program.
Tanya enjoyed traveling to the ocean with her husband, David, on their motorcycle. They traveled the East Coast, making many trips to Maine and New Hampshire. While visiting the ocean, Tanya had the opportunity to swim with the dolphins, an experience she truly enjoyed. Besides traveling, Tanya was a fan of dirt track racing and four-wheeling. But the most important part of her life was spending time and reminiscing with her family and friends.
Survivors include her loving husband, David; her mother, Elaine (Lane) Smaldone; a daughter, Sarah Neff; a son, Brandon Lane and wife Melinda; brothers, Robert Smaldone and wife Allison, and Gary Sickler; several grandchildren; stepmother, Liz Smaldone; stepsons, David George and wife Alexandra and Steven George and wife Brittany; step-siblings, Linda Bracken and husband Edward and Bill Eaton and wife Cassandra; special friends, Debbie, Mary, Jeff, Laura, Joe Volo and wife Cissy and Pastor Josh; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws; and her canine companion, Jetta.
She was predeceased by her father, Robert L. Smaldone; her paternal grandparents, Lewis and Edith Smaldone and her maternal grandparents, Clifford and Mildred Lane.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 12:00 to 4:00 pm at Rock Valley Brewing Co., 56 Mill St., Little Falls, NY 13365.
