Susan I. Wheet

Herkimer - Susan I. Wheet 70, a long time Herkimer resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Oneida Health with her loving family by her side.

She was born on July 26, 1952, in Elmira Heights, NY, the daughter of the late Louis and Shirley (Hardy) Dickinson. Susan was educated in Thomas Edison High School in Elmira Heights, NY.

Her marriage to Gary F. Wheet took place on November 4, 1972, in Elmira Heights, NY.

Susan worked for P&C Foods for many years as the Bakery Manager. After P&C closed their doors, Susan went on to be the Bakery Manager for Hannaford, until her retirement.  

With family being her foremost priority, Susan's life was centered around her loved ones. She always placed the needs and concerns of her husband, children and grandchildren first.

Survivors include her loving husband of 50 years, Gary; her devoted children, Toby(Kristie) of Little Falls, Jody(Jennifer) of Mohawk, and Katherine(David) of Herkimer; her cherished grandchildren; Jakob, Natalie(Zachary), Emma, Trent, Cole, Arrissa, Colton, Shaun, Callie and Addison and several great grandchildren. Also, special friend Shannon. Besides her parents, Susan is predeceased by her infant daughter Tara Christine Wheet. 

The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses from Oneida Health for their kindness, compassion and exceptional care during this difficult time. In keeping with Susan's wishes, funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of her family. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to Hannaford Markets), 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY.
