Shirley M. (Fudjack) Walsh

Herkimer – Shirley M. Walsh, 85, of Herkimer passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at the Colonial Park Nursing Center, Rome, NY with the care and love of her family by her side.

She was born September 22, 1938, in Glen Lyon, PA, the daughter of the late Michael & Louise (Spychalski) Fudjack and was a graduate of Herkimer High School, class of 1956.

Shirley was married to Donald J. Walsh on February 14, 1981. The couple shared a blessed union of 14 years until Donald’s passing in March of 1995.

Mrs. Walsh was last employed at the former Dr. Soroka DDS, where she learned and took pride in all aspects of the office.

A woman devoted to her family, Shirley proved herself a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her son, Jon Jones and wife Betty of Rome, NY; her daughter, Veronica Poore of Rome, NY; six cherished grandchildren, Ryan Poore and wife Amy, Shaun Poore, Christopher Poore, Nicholas Jones, Nathan Jones, and Matthew Jones; her beloved great grandchildren, Mya, Rylie and Tyler Poore, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by three brothers, John, Robert and Michael Fudjack and her son-in-law, Douglas Poore.

In keeping with Shirley’s wishes funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. The family has entrusted all funeral arrangements to the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (Next to Hannaford Markets) 527 East Albany St., Herkimer, NY, 866-1500.
