St. Johnsville - Sandra M. (Sandy) Masi, 70, a long time St. Johnsville resident, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, NY with her loving family by her side.
She was born on October 25, 1951, in Little Falls, the daughter of the late Bernard and Emma (Foggia) Weiner. Sandy was a graduate of Fort Plain High School and later earned her Associates Degree from Herkimer County Community College.
On February 2, 1971, Sandy was united in marriage to Barnard A. (Benny) Masi at the former St. Patrick's Catholic Church in St. Johnsville. Sandra was a free spirit and force, passing along her love of life to all that knew her.
For many years, Sandy was a substitute teacher for the St. Johnsville - Oppenheim - Ephrathah School District. She actively participated in numerous scholastic events. Her favorite event of the year was the annual scholarship games.
Sandy immediately lit up any room she entered and made an impact on so many people. She was blessed with many enduring friendships and filled her home with warmth and kindness.
Sandy's legacy was her family, she was a fierce matriarch always putting her family before herself. She recently celebrated 51 years of marriage and many memorable milestones throughout the years with her husband. She loved to travel with him and graciously supported his passion for cars, making many lifelong friends on their travels. She was the proud Mother of three beloved sons; Grandmother, to ten beautiful grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
She is predeceased in life by her cherished sister Paula Peck, and her parents. She leaves behind her loving husband, Benny; sons, Travis Masi; Nicolas Masi and wife Ann; Craig Masi and wife Marissa; her treasured grandchildren, Anthony, Isabella, Gianna, Adriana, Myles, Dominic, Evelina, Alessandra, Dante and Guilia. She is survived by her brothers, Roger Weiner and wife Clara, Michael Weiner and wife Joanne, sister, Anna Theresa (Teri) Wolfkiel; godchildren Courtney Weiner and Megan Timian, many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
A celebration of Sandy's life will take place on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, from 4 - 6 pm at Lombardo's Restaurant in St. Johnsville. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A.
