Samuel Servadio Obituary

Herkimer - Samuel G. Servadio, 94, a lifelong Herkimer resident, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 29, 2024, at Little Falls Hospital with his devoted family by his side.

Sam was born in Herkimer on April 27, 1929, as Savino, the youngest of five sons to the late Angelo and Theresa (Manieri) Servadio. He was a graduate of Herkimer High School.

On August 13, 1949, Sam was united in marriage to the former Mary DiGristina at St. Joseph's Church in Little Falls, NY. The couple shared a blessed union of 64 years until her death on April 15, 2013.

For over 30 years, Sam was the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds for the Herkimer Central School District.

Sam was an avid outdoorsman that loved hunting, archery, and boating. He had a hobby for every season and especially enjoyed spending time up at his camp. He was a loving and caring father, grandfather and great grandfather who always put the needs and concerns of his family first.

Survivors include two daughters, Claudia Servadio-Coyne of New Hartford, NY and Holly Catalina and husband Michael of Dolgeville; a son, Sam D. Servadio and wife Barbara of Lake Placid, NY; six grandchildren, Ariel Servadio and partner Jazzmyng, Max Coyne, Christian Coyne-Nguyen and wife Trang Nguyen, Chancellor Coyne and wife Rebecca, Mads Coyne and Jesse Catalina and fiancée Alexandria; two great grandchildren, Chancellor, Jr. and Wynona; and several special nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Louis and wife Louise Servadio, Dominick and wife Jeanne Servadio, Anthony Servadio, and Ralph and wife Mamie Servadio.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the exemplary staff at Little Falls Hospital.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Sunday, February 4, 2024, from 3 - 5 pm at the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service (next to Hannaford Markets), 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY 315-866-1500. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, February 5, 2024, at 10:00 am at the Church of Sts. Anthony & Joseph, South Main St., Herkimer, NY. Burial at Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, will take place in the spring. In lieu of flowers. place make all memorial contributions to St. Jude's Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
