Salvatore (Sam) Francesco

Little Falls - Salvatore (Sam) Francesco, 68, a longtime Town of Little Falls resident, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, with his loving family by his side.

He was born on June 25, 1957, in Herkimer, the son of the late Charles M. Francesco Sr. and Concetta (Mancino) Francesco. Sam was a graduate of Herkimer High School, Class of 1976.

On July 11, 1981, Sam was united in marriage to Kim M. Hunter at the former St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Little Falls.

For many years, Sam, along with his family, owned and operated the Francesco Farm in the Town of Little Falls. Sam also worked for the towns of Little Falls and Herkimer during the winter months and drove the snowplow.

Mr. Francesco was a member of the Holy Family Parish in Little Falls, NY.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Kim; a daughter, Nicole Knapp and husband, John; a son, Salvatore C. (Sammy) Francesco; two grandchildren, Brody and Cole Knapp; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was pre-deceased by his son Anthony E. Francesco on August 11, 2013, his mother Concetta in February of 2014, and his father Charles Francesco Sr, in 1991.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the locally owned and family operated, Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service (next to Hannaford Markets), 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY. A prayer service will follow at 12:00 noon in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Herkimer, NY. In lieu of flowers please make all memorial contributions to the East Herkimer Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 95, Herkimer, NY 13350. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
