Herkimer - Ruth B. Renshaw, 82, a life long Herkimer resident, passed away peacefully on Monday April 19, 2021 at her home with her loving family by her side.
She was born March 26, 1939 in Herkimer the daughter of the late Michael and Grace (Jackson) Glogowski and was a graduate of Herkimer High School.
Her marriage to Sydney D. Renshaw took place on April 30, 1960 at the Church of the Annunciation in Ilion, NY.
Ruth was last employed at the Folts Home in Herkimer in the Housekeeping Department. At one time She worked at the former Allegro Shoe Company in Little Falls and the former Standard Furniture Company in Herkimer.
A woman devoted to her family, Ruth's life was centered around her loved ones. She enjoyed sitting in her front yard and visiting with her neighbors. In her leisure, she enjoyed traveling to Vernon Downs Casino, spending time with friends at bingo, and playing scratch off tickets to test her luck. Which somehow she always had. Ruth was also known for her famous pierogi and galumpkis. Also, her chocolate pudding pie and her enormous Christmas cookie platters which everyone could not wait to get. Her contagious personality and laughs will be missed by family and friends.
Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years, Sydney; a son, Christopher Renshaw and wife Laura of Frankfort; a daughter, Lisa Hurley and husband Eric of Anderson, South Carolina; six grandchildren; Matthew Renshaw, Angelina McIntosh, Anthony McIntosh, James McIntosh, Maddie Renshaw and Wyatt Renshaw; two great granddaughters, Athena and Arianna Renshaw; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her son, Michael S. Renshaw on March 13, 2013; a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Keyser and husband Henry and a nephew, Henry Keyser, Jr.
Funeral services will take place on Sunday April 25, 2021 at 4:00 pm from the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to NBT Bank), 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY with Deacon James Bower, officiating. The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Sunday April 25, 2021 from 2:00 pm until the time of the services at 4:00 pm. Due to the current COVID - 19 restrictions, facemask and social distancing is required. Burial at St. Agnes Cemetery will be private and held at the convenience of her family. All memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
