Obituary
St. Johnsville – Ronald E. Miles, 80, of the Town of St. Johnsville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at his home with the support of his family by his side.
He was born on May 13, 1943, in Little Falls, NY the son of the late Emerson and Marion (Fisher) Miles. He was a graduate of Oppenheim – Ephratah High School, class of 1961.
On August 4, 1962, Ronald was united in marriage to Cathy Snell at the St. Johnsville Reformed Church.
Ronald worked for the New York State Department of Corrections as a superintendent at the Elmira State Correction Facility, until his retirement in 1990.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Cathy, his children, Richard Miles and wife Dyane, Monica Vonderchek and Melissa Miles: four grandchildren, Richard, Ross, Rylee and Mallory; two sisters, Peggie Miles and Linda Miles; a brother, Fred Miles; and several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by a daughter, Marsha Miles, a grandson, Sean Rundell and a sister, Doris Smith.
In keeping with Ronald’s wishes funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of his family. Arrangements are by the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY.
