Obituary

 

St. Johnsville - Ronald G. (Pops) Hazzard Sr., 79, a long time St. Johnsville resident passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Albany Medical Center.

He was born on May 4, 1943, in Fordsbush, NY, the son of the late Orlando and Bertha (Trask) Hazzard and was educated in Fordsbush.

Ron was last employed at the former Palatine Dye in St. Johnsville where he lastly held the position of Supervisor.

 Pops was a loving and caring father and grandfather. His happiest times were spent in the company of his grandchildren. An avid outdoorsman, Ron, enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his five sons, Timothy Hazzard and Donna Vogt, Thomas Hazzard and Mark Cole, David Hazzard and wife Courtney, Ronald Hazzard, Jr., and wife Tina and Ryan Hazzard and wife Staci; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Doris Bawolak; two brothers, Darwin Hazzard and wife Bonnie and Leland Hazzard and wife Carol; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, from 2 - 4 pm at the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY. A prayer service will follow at 4:00 pm at the chapel of the funeral home.
