Robert K. Entwistle

Mohawk - Robert K. (Bob) Entwistle, 89, of Mohawk, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 26, 2025, with his loving family by his side.

Bob was born on July 19, 1935, in Herkimer, NY the son of the late Ernest and Garnetta (McGraw) Entwistle and was educated in Herkimer schools.

After his education, Bob joined the United States Air Force. He served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1956.

On October 15, 1960, Bob was united in marriage to Joyce Heinze at the former Herkimer Episcopal Church. They have lived a fulfilling lifelong commitment to one another with lots of memories.

Bob was last employed for the Village of Herkimer Street Department with the position of Foreman.

He was a member of the Crowley - Barnum American Legion Post 25 in Mohawk, NY.

Bob will always be remembered by family and friends for his huge heart and friendly demeanor. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone for anything despite what he had going on. He had a contagious smile, his dry sense of humor was legendary, and was always the one anyone would turn to, rely on for advice. He loved having family gathering and cook outs. He built a beautiful life for his wife and two sons, who he cherished very dearly. Then, later on went on to raise his two grandchildren, who were the light of his eyes. Never did he miss an event or sports game.  The loved he showed to everyone he met and to all who loved him, he will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Joyce; his two sons, Brian Entwistle of Ilion and Robert “Bobby Jr.” Entwistle of Ilion; his grandchildren, Matthew (Heather) of Spring Hill, FL, Jenilyn (Chris) of Mohawk and Emma of Panama City, FL; great grandchildren, Autymn, Casen and Liam; his sister, Sandra Marusic; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was pre-deceased by his parents, Ernest and Garnetta; brothers, Joe, Ernie, Don, Fran and Ray; sisters, Betty, Dorothy and Shirley.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 2 - 4 pm. A prayer service will follow at 4:00 pm. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the locally owned and family operated, Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to Hannaford Markets), 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY.
