Dolgeville - Richard L. Crum,56, of Dolgeville (Town of Oppenheim), passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY.
He was born on May 16, 1968, in Paterson, New Jersey, the son of the late Richard Lewis and Arlene (Herman) Crum.
Richard was a graduate of Oppenheim - Ephratah High School.
Richard had a diverse employment history as a truck driver and construction equipment operator. His pride stemmed from his skill in operating heavy machinery.
Richard was a man of many passions. He was a loving and devoted father and brother, always putting his family's needs and concerns first. His love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies: fishing, target practice, and snowmobiling. He also had a deep passion for restoring antique tractors.
Survivors include his sons, Lane M. Claus and Jackie Snyder and Casey J. Crum and Sarah Hysack; a sister, Jacqueline Calafrancesco and husband Roy; a brother, Robert Crum and wife Jessica; nieces, Paige and Olivia Crum and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. His beloved dog Bailey.
In keeping with Richard's wishes, funeral services will be private and held at his family's convenience. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service (next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY.
