Richard Bellinger Obituary

 Richard E. Bellinger, 92, a lifelong St. Johnsville resident, passed away peacefully on Friday September 9, 2022, at the St. Johnsville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

He was born May 5, 1930, at the family farmhouse, the son of the late James D. and Mae (Johnson) Bellinger. After graduating from St. Johnsville Central School, he worked the family dairy farm until the operation ceased. He later was employed by Beech Nut Inc. in Canajoharie NY.

Richard loved antiques, attending many large antique shows across NYS. He had a passion for family genealogy, and local Mohawk Valley history. He was active in Crum Creek Grange activities, bingo, and card parties. He was well loved by his family and friends.

Survivors include his nephew, Allen D. Bellinger and wife Brenda; his nieces Donna (Bellinger) Chapman and husband Kim, and Kathleen (Bellinger) Getman; many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by one brother J. Ogden Bellinger and wife Grace.

In keeping with Richard’s wishes, graveside service at St. Johnsville Cemetery will be private and held at the convenience of his family. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY 518-568-7040. All memorial contributions may be made to the St. Johnsville Ambulance: S.A.V.A.C. , PO Box 296, St. Johnsville, NY 13452.
