Rev. Hans Drews

St. Johnsville - Rev. Hans Drews, 86, a longtime St. Johnsville resident passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Mountain Valley Hospice, Gloversville, NY with his loving family by his side.

He was born on April 9, 1939, in Germany, the son of the late Paul and Emilie (Muller) Drews and was educated in Germany.

On December 17, 1960, Hans was united in marriage to Rosaline Warner at the former St. Johnsville United Methodist Church. The couple shared a blessed union of 64 years until the passing of Rosaline on November 1, 2025.

Rev. Drews was the minister for the North Columbia United Methodist Church and Columbia Center United Methodist Church in Ilion, NY.

Survivors include his daughter, Angela Owens and husband Tom; a son, Hans W. Drews and wife Ruth; two grandchildren, Carl Gogol and wife Becky and Lukas Drews; three great grandchildren; his siblings, Klaus (Donna) Drews, Peter (Birgit)  Drews, Paul (Anita) Drews and Werner Drews two sisters-in-laws, Evelyn Miles and Catherine Bellen; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by infant daughter, Crystal his siblings Ella, Waltroud, Wilhelm, Erna, Gunther, Ingeborg, Horst, Christel and Jurgen and four brothers-in-law.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church, 555 Albany St., Little Falls, NY. His funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at the Church with Rev. Chris Wintermute officiating. Burial will follow at St. Johnsville Cemetery. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the locally owned and family operated, Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service (next to the Masonic Lodge) 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY. In lieu of flowers, please make all memorial contributions to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave. Gloversville, NY 12078. Envelopes will be available at the Church.
