Herkimer - Raymond C. Wiegand, 75, a long time Herkimer resident, passed away on Sunday November 1, 2020.
He was born December 15, 1944 in Herkimer the son of the late Joseph Raymond and Georgianna (Murray) Wiegand and was educated in Ilion Schools.
Mr. Wiegand was a United States Army veteran, enlisting on December 7, 1965 and was honorably discharged on November 30, 1967. While serving his country he was awarded the Bronze Star.
For many years, Raymond worked at the former MDS in Herkimer. He was last employed at the Mohawk Antique Mall.
He was of the catholic faith.
Survivors include two brothers, Gerry J. Wiegand and his wife Janet of Herkimer, and James R. Wiegand and his wife Roberta of Herkimer; a sister, Kathleen Fasani of Ilion; and several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by two brothers Robert Wiegand and Steven Wiegand and a sister, Margaret "Peggy" Whitney.
In keeping with Raymond's wishes funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to NBT Bank), 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY.
