Phyllis E. Snyder, 76, of the Town of St. Johnsville passed away peacefully on Friday, January 28, 2022, at her home.
She was born on July 23, 1945, in Cobleskill, NY, the daughter of the late Leland and Lillian (Warburton) Slater. Phyllis was a graduate of Gilboa-Conesville High School and later graduated from Albany Practical Nursing School.
Until her retirement, Phyllis was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse for the former Mohawk Valley Nursing Home, (now the Grand) in Ilion. During her earlier years, Phyllis took on a love for farming, and all that comes with it, including the animals, the landscaping, and gardening projects.
Phyllis was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed the quality time she spent with her grandchildren. She likes to keep busy either tending to her gardens, knitting, sewing, or crocheting. In her leisure, Phyllis was an avid book reader.
Survivors include her loving son Emerson Snyder and his fiancée, Sharissa Brownell; her cherished grandchildren Keith Snyder, Brantlee, Ty, and Ava Brownell; two sisters, Gloria Hellijas and her husband David and Shirley Slater; a brother, Leland Slater, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents, and infant twin sister Barbara Betty Slater.
In keeping with Phyllis' wishes funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of her family. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Vincent A. Enea Funeral Services, (next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge Street, St. Johnsville, NY.
