Peter J. Macri, Sr.

Herkimer - Peter J. Macri, Sr., 66, of West End Road, Herkimer, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at St. Luke' Medical Center, New Hartford, NY.

 He was born October 7, 1955, in Herkimer the son of the late Anthony (Sonny) and Evelyn (Lawyer) Macri. Peter was a graduate of Herkimer High School.

 Peter was united in marriage to Charlene J. Hall on August 11, 1978, at St. Francis de Sales Church by the late Reverend Peter Nabozny.

 Mr. Macri was owner and operator of Peter Macri Paving in Herkimer.

 Peter's life was centered around his devoted family. He was a caring and loving husband, father, poppy and brother who always put the needs and concerns of his loved ones first.

 Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Charlene; his daughter, Knona Macri and Willis Dixon, III; his son, Peter Macri, Jr., and wife Evelynn; a sister, Jean Macri and her partner Lisa Karges; four brothers, Joseph Macri, Anthony Macri and wife Tracey, Richard Macri and wife Jill, and Edwin Macri and wife Amy; and his beloved grandchildren who were the pride and highlight of his life; Jr., Brandon, Bubby, Jadyn Jonny, Peter, Gianna and Kyleek; many aunts, uncles nieces, nephews and cousins. Also a special friend, Gary Czernecky and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his in-laws, James Henry, Denise Kashorek and John, Michele DeWitt and Tony, Jessica Couillard and Jahnel Kaczor and Michael.

 The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Thursday, December 23, 2021, from 5 - 8 pm at the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to NBT Bank), 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY. His funeral will commence on Friday, December 24, 2021, at 10:30 am at the funeral home with John Kashorek, officiating. Burial at Calvary Cemetery will take place in the spring. Followed by a celebration of life picnic for friends and family.
