Patrick C. Lyga

St. Johnsville - Patrick C. Lyga 61, of the Town of Ephratah, St. Johnsville, NY, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on Saturday, July 13, 2024.

He was born on August 21, 1962, in Herkimer, the son of the late Frank and Beverly (Smith) Lyga. Pat was a graduate of Herkimer High School, class of 1980, and also attended Herkimer BOCES trade school for Masonry. After school Pat went into the family construction business Lyga’s Paving with his father and brother. Later in life Lyga’s Contracting was formed and Pat spent his most recent years working with Hamilton Electric in Johnstown, NY.

On October 1, 1983, Pat was united in marriage to Sandra Haskell at St. Joseph's Church in Worcester, NY.

Pat was a loving and devoted husband, father and brother, who always put the needs and concerns of his family first. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Sandra; two sons, Patrick J. Lyga and fiancée Shaunna of Saratoga Springs, NY and Chad Lyga of St. Johnsville, NY; a furry grandchild, Indigo Lyga; two brothers, Frank Lyga and wife Lisa of Simi Valley, CA and Kevin Lyga and wife Rhonda of St. Johnsville, NY; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

An avid outdoorsman, Pat enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping. He was active in competitive archery and liked taking rides on his ATV, snowmobile, and motorcycle. His most beloved activity was going for long walks in the woods with his best buddy, Indigo.

In keeping with Pat's wishes, there will be no funeral service and the family will hold a private ceremony in Pat’s remembrance. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY.
