Patricia N. (O'Bryan) Coombs

Herkimer - Patricia N. (Patty) Coombs, 77, a lifelong Herkimer resident, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Wynn Hospital, Utica, NY, with her loving family by her side.

She was born on May 23, 1948, in Herkimer, the daughter of the late Raymond and Eileen (Rivers) O’Bryan. Patty was a graduate of Herkimer High School and furthered her education at Albany School of Business.

Her marriage to Raymond J. Coombs took place on February 11, 1983, at St. Francis de Sales Church in Herkimer, by the late Reverend Robert Shinos. The couple shared a blessed union of 35 years until the passing of Raymond on April 14, 2018.

Patty was last employed at the former Jamie Garcia DeParedes, DDS in Herkimer, NY.

Patty's life was centered around her loved ones. She enjoyed the quality time she spent with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed tending to her garden, reading with a cup of coffee close at hand, and talking with her many friends.  She took great pride in her home and her family.  Patty delighted in seeing her granddaughter, Samantha, married in the fall of last year.

She is survived by three daughters, Shannon (Mark) Buffa, Jennifer (Charles) Cammarata and Kathleen Coombs; a son, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Coombs; a sister, Carol (James) Babcock; two brothers, Stephen (Karen) O’Bryan and Timothy (Mary) O’Bryan; her grandchildren, Paige, Tanner, Levi, Jeremy, Sabrina, Dylan, and Samantha; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents and husband, Patty was pre-deceased by a grandson, C.J. Cammarata.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 10am at St. Francis de Sales Church, N. Bellinger St., Herkimer, NY. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, NY.  Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the locally owned and family operated, Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to Hannaford Markets), 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY.  All memorial contributions may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation, 5005 Campuswood Drive, East Syracuse, NY 13057, Hunter's Hope, PO Box 643, Orchard Park, NY 14127, or St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 510 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Envelopes will be available at the church.
