Nancy L. (Franklin) Mechelke

Herkimer - Nancy L. Mechelke, 83, of Herkimer passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 5, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, NY. 

She was born November 22, 1937 in New Jersey, the daughter of the late Clifton H. and Louise I. (Lewis) Franklin and was a graduate of Richfield Springs High School. 

She was last employed at AFSTA in Utica, NY.

Nancy was a devoted mother and grandmother, who always put the needs and concerns of her loved on first. She was an avid painter and had a special talent to make personal hand made birthday and greeting cards.

Survivors include her son, Terry Franklin; her grandchildren Alison and Paul Franklin; sisters, Ona J. Mogensen, and Judith Mechelke; brother, Clifton Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Bonnie View, and her brothers, Albert, James, Dennis and Thomas Franklin.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday May 13, 2021 at 7:00 pm from the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to NBT Bank), 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY with Deacon Ron Ste Marie officiating. The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Thursday May 13, 2021 from 6:00 pm until the time of the services at 7:00 pm.
