Monica Ortlieb Obituary

 

Newport – Monica A. Ortlieb, 81, of Newport and a former Dolgeville resident, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at her home.

 She was born November 17, 1939 in Little Falls, the daughter of the late Steve and Elizabeth “Betty” (Vanek) Mocko. Monica was a graduate of Little Falls High School.

 Her marriage to Richard Ortlieb took place on June 22, 1963 in Little Falls. The couple shared a blessed union of 54 years until the passing of Richard on December 26, 2017.

 Mrs. Ortlieb was last employed at Ideal wood in Little Falls, NY.

 As the matriarch of her family, her main job was caring for her children and grandchildren; which a labor of love that fulfilled her life. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking; doing word search, crossword and jig saw puzzles. Monica was an avid New York Yankee fan.

 Survivors include her daughter, Tracy Ortlieb and Doug Lupino of Fairfield; two sons, Richard Ortlieb and wife Stacey of Dolgeville and Kevin Ortlieb of Dolgeville; a daughter-in-law, Michelle Ortlieb of Dolgeville; a brother, Steven Mocko and wife Cassie of Florida; her grandchildren, Amanda and Matthew, Kyle, Chris, Andrew, Trevor, Dillon, Jordan, Jacob, Aiden and Brody; her great grandchildren, Andrew and Brooklynn; brother in -law, Harold Lacek; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

 She was pre-deceased by her son, Ryan D. Ortlieb on January 20, 2019,and in-laws, Annabelle Lacek and Edward , Sandy Ortlieb of Dolgeville  .

 In keeping with Monica’s wishes funeral services will be private and will be held at the convenience of her family. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to NBT Bank), 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY.
