Mildred Nichols Obituary

Schenectady - Mildred A. (Millie) Nichols, 80 of Schenectady and formerly of Herkimer, passed away peacefully on Monday January 11, 2021 at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany, NY.

She was born on September 2, 1940 in Herkimer, the daughter of the late Peter Knieze and Amelia Nichols. She was educated in Herkimer and also attended Beauty School as a Beautician.

In November of 1965 she was married to the late Peter J. Macri, Sr.

Until her retirement, Millie was employed at Stewarts Shops in Schenectady, where she held the position of manager.

Millie's life was centered around the quality time spent with her family. She also enjoyed time gardening. Millie found much relaxation sitting by her fish pond in her yard,  watching the squirrels and birds. She had a special place in her heart for all animals, especially her three canine rescues: Tigger, Jenny, and Denver. 

Survivors include her two sons, Peter J. Macri, Jr. and Silvia Graziadei of Herkimer, and Michael A. Macri and Kimberly (Farron) Macri of Rensselaer, NY; her long time partner, David Baker  of Schenectady; her grandchildren, Courtney and Daniel Macri; her great granddaughter, Kaedence Crane; and her step-grandchildren, Kristina, Philip and Daniel Grazaidei, Kevin Web and Daniel Booth.  Her cousins, Imogene Nichols of Campobello, SC, Corinne (Charles) Mueller of Central Bridge, NY and her Goddaughter, Samantha Giglia of Schenectady, NY and several other cousins.

She was pre-deceased by her step-father, George Nichols and her cousin Glen H. Nichols Sr.

A graveside service will take place in the spring at Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, NY at a time and date to be announced. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to NBT Bank), 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY 315-866-1500. All memorial contributions may be made to the Herkimer Humane Society, 514 State Route 5s, Mohawk, NY 13407.
