St. Johnsville - Michael S. “Mike” Walters, 55, of St. Johnsville, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at his home.
He was born on June 1, 1970, in Gloversville, the son of Darlene A. (Parry) Walters and the late Richard C. Walters. Mike was a student at Gloversville High School.
He is survived by his mother, Darlene; four daughters, Samantha L. Groves, and Joshua Goodrich, Brittany N. Walters, Madison R. Walters, and Abigayle K. Walters: a son, Anthony J. Walters; a sister, Lori Walters; two brothers, Richard Walters and Matthew Foster; his grandchildren; Aidan, Gracie, Ashlyn, Coleson, Jack, and Mateo! A very special niece Savannaha and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father, Richard C. Walters.
Mike had an everlasting love for all things cars! He raced street stocks for many years as a young adult, where he gained the name (Lugnut) Mike Walters! He also earned the name Steampunk Mike in his demolition derby days! His racing career was mainly done at Fonda Speedway and Glen Ridge Motorsports, and occasionally at other tracks as well. Racing was his whole life. He also always kept a spot in his heart for camping, hiking, and of course fishing.
A celebration of Mike’s life will take place on November 9th details will be announced in a Facebook event ASAP. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the locally owned and family operated, Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge St. St. Johnsville, NY.
