Michael Martyniuk Obituary

 

Herkimer – Michael W. Martyniuk, 66, a longtime Herkimer resident, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on Friday, September 9, 2022, at Glens Falls Hospital, with his loving family by his side.

 He was born on August 26, 1956, in Little Falls, the son of the late Walter and Olena (Datczuk) Martyniuk. Mike was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School, class of 1974 and furthered his education at Herkimer County Community College and SUNY Albany.

 On July 29, 1978, Mike was united in marriage to Sharon Johnson at the St. Johnsville Reformed Church.

 For 44 years, Mr. Martyniuk was employed at Lockheed Martin (formerly General Electric) where he lastly held the position of Engineer.

 Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Sharon; two devoted daughters, Serena Martyniuk and Amanda Martyniuk; two cherished grandchildren, Ayva and Jayden Pierre; two special puppies, Winnie Poo and Cali; a sister, Mary Ann Smith and husband Ronald; in-laws, Patti Brinkley, Donna Madison, Regina and Richard Coffin, Loretta Timmerman; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.

 The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Sunday, September 18, 2022, from 1 – 3 pm at the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service (next to Hannaford Markets) 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY. A prayer service will follow at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Michael may be made to those struggling with mental illness at ICAN, 310 Man Street, Utica, NY 13501 or Mohawk Valley Behavioral Health Care Collaborative, 624 Elizabeth Street, Utica, NY 13051. Envelopes will be at the funeral home.
