Matthew J. Rounds

Clinton - Matthew J. Rounds 33, of Clinton, NY and a former Little Falls resident, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday May 14, 2022, from injuries sustained from an ATV accident.

 He was born on October 15, 1988, in Little Falls the son of Mabel I. (Carr) Rounds and the late Alfred D. Rounds. Matt was a graduate of Little Falls High School, Class of 2008, Herkimer County Community College and most recently from the New York State Corrections Academy.

 Matt was currently employed as a Correction Officer at Marcy State Correctional Facility. He was also an active member of the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department and was formerly a volunteer fire fighter for the Frankfort Fire Department.

 Matt was of the catholic faith. He was a loving and devoted father to his daughter Sabrina, She was his pride and joy. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt. In his leisure he enjoyed watching the Las Vegas Raiders.

 Survivors include his mother, Mabel of Little Falls; a daughter, Sabrina Mae Rounds and (her mother, Janine Johnson who loved him dearly); his girl friend, KJ Bolton (her children Lennox and Noah Bolton); six sisters, Vicky (Calvin) Lang, Barbara Rounds and Wayne Harrington, Valerie (Robert) Prusky, Amy Rounds and Shawn Kane, Elizabeth (William) Smith, and Amanda (Chad) Grower; two brothers Albert Rounds and Jodi Rae Lagodich and   Joseph Rounds. Many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

 He was pre-deceased by his father Alfred D. Rounds, sister Patricia Rounds; brother Robert Rounds; and two nephews Michael Lang and Andrew Joseph Rounds.

 Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 19, 2022, at 10:00 am from the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to Hannaford Markets) 527 E. Albany St. Herkimer, NY with Deacon James Bower officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery Town of Herkimer, NY.  The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Wednesday May 18, 2022,  from 5 - 7 pm.  

 In lieu of flowers, those wishing are asked to consider donations to Matt’s daughter Sabrina Mae Rounds ℅ her mom Janine Johnson. After the services at the cemetery, the family will be receiving relatives and friends at Ruggiero's Trattoria in Little Falls from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
