On September 2, 2022, heaven gained a beautiful angel. Mary Lou Donohue, 79, passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Mary Lou was born on May 12, 1943, in Little Falls, NY. The daughter of the late Warren and Marguerite (Fiacco) Putman.
On May 5, 1962, Mary Lou married the love of her life, Richard Donohue. Mary Lou and Richard shared 60 years of love and loyalty together.
For over 25 years, Mary Lou was employed by Lexington ARC in Gloversville where she worked in the Human Resource/Benefit Administration Department.
Family was her world. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who she loved beyond measure. The recent addition of her great grandson, Henry brightened her world. Mary Lou was a wonderful cook and loved cooking holiday dinners. Her famous chicken soup and sugar cookies were family favorites. She enjoyed spending time at camp with family and friends. Many memories were made on Gilman Lake and will bring happiness to many for years to come. She loved to travel and enjoyed many adventures with her sister Lori and cousins Carol and Lexi. Mary Lou was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a beautiful soul full of kindness and generosity who was loved by all.
Mary Lou is survived by her devoted husband, Richard; her loving children, daughters, Michele Donohue; Mary Beth (Robert) St. Dennis, and her son, Michael (Pamela) Donohue. Her cherished grandchildren, Victoria (John) Meierdiercks; Morgan St. Dennis, Brett Donohue and Shea Donohue; and great grandson, Henry Meierdiercks; sister, Lora Mosher; brothers, Jon (Lori) Putman and Michael Putman; and several nieces nephews and cousins.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Friday, September 9, 2022, from 2-4pm at the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge Street, St. Johnsville, NY, 518-568-7040. A prayer service will follow at 4:00pm. Donations can be made in Mary Lou’s name to The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02215. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
