Mary J. (Jackie) Blais

Herkimer- On Sunday, April 23, 2023, Mary J (Jackie) Blais, 84, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully, at Valley Health Services, Herkimer, with her loving family by her side.
A lifelong Herkimer resident, Mary was born on February 10, 1939, to the late George and Ina (Fleur) Mills.  
Mary married Robert L. Blais on May 18, 1957, at St Francis Desales Church in Herkimer.  The couple shared a devoted and blessed marriage of 60 years until the passing of Bob on February 27, 2018.
Jackie was employed for several years as a bank teller for the former Herkimer County Trust bank in Herkimer.  You could always expect a smile and helping hand as Jackie was a kind and loving lady. 
Jackie was of the catholic faith. Jackie’s life was centered around her family.  She enjoyed cooking for her family and was the happiest when her loved ones were home for a Sunday meal and loved the holidays with all her kids and grandchildren around.  Jackie also enjoyed a simple ride on a Sunday afternoon to get an ice cream cone or a mid- week ride to the casino with Bob.
The proud mother of her daughter Jill Macri and husband Richard of Herkimer, 3 sons Robert Blais and wife Libby of San Diego, California, Scott Blais and wife Betsey of Herkimer and Michael Blais and wife Michelle of Herkimer. Her cherished grandchildren Ricky Macri (Allison), Troy Macri (Alexa), Chelsea Macri (Wesley), Courtney and Rachel Blais, Scotti Blais (Sirena), Jamie Blais (Shawna), Sophia and Brent Blais: she is also survived by her cherished great grandchildren Isabella, Wyatt, Paityn, Gabriella, Raelyn and Hudson.  A sister, Marilyn Foley and husband Art, in-laws Elaine Mills, Foster Elwood, Louise Blais and Ted Sosnoski and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Donna Elwood, Carolyn Ferrucci, Beverly Sosnoski and brothers Robert Mills, Richard Mills, Donald Mills and Richard Blais.
In keeping with Jackie’s wishes, funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of her family. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to Hannaford Markets), 527 E Albany St, Herkimer, NY.
