Whitesboro - Marsden A. Lyon, 79, Whitesboro, NY, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at his home.

 He was born on February 1, 1944, in Dolgeville, NY the son of the late George M. and Grace (Cramer) Lyon. Marsden was a graduate of Dolgeville High School.

 On August 15, 1964, Marsden married the love of his life Carol A. Miller at St. Joseph's Church in Dolgeville. The couple shared a blessed union of 56 years until the passing of Carol on January 19, 2021.

 For many years, until his retirement, Marsden was employed with the Operating Engineer Union and was a surveyor.

 Marsden was a man dedicated to his family. He always put the needs and concerns of his loved ones first. Marsden was an avid Syracuse University and Buffalo Bills fan. In his leisure, he enjoyed gardening, bird watching and watching Jeopardy.

 Survivors include his loving daughter, Schelli Servidone and husband Joseph; his cherished grandchildren, Jon Lyon and wife Katie, Zachary Servidone and wife Courtney, and Haley Benson and husband Grant; two great grandchildren, Grayson and Theodore; brothers, Bruce Lyon, Duane Lyon and wife Donna, Daryl Lyon and wife Julia, and George Lyon and wife Char; sisters, Grace Eggleston and Noreen Crane and husband James; sisters-in-law, Charlene Harper and Lois Miller and husband Dixon Peters; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

 He was pre-deceased by his loving daughter, Valeriann M. Lyon on February 11, 1992; brothers, Craig Lyon in 1978, Merwin Lyon in 1988, Waldo Lyon in 2020; sisters, Shirley Williams in 1951, Arlene Lyon in 2004, Nadine Spencer in 2020, and Irene Diedrich in 2020.

 In honoring their wishes, the family will be receiving relatives and friends to celebrate the lives of Marsden and Carol on Sunday, February 19, 2023, from 3 - 4 pm at the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to Hannaford Markets), 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY. A prayer service will follow at 4:00 pm at the funeral home chapel with Deacon James Bower, officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make all memorial contributions to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
