Marion Evelyn Pachut

St. Johnsville – Marion Evelyn Pachut, 94, a long time St. Johnsville resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday January 26, 2020 at the St. Johnsville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, with her loving family by her side.

She was born January 2, 1926 in Little Falls the daughter of the late Harry and Frances (O’Brien) Steinburg. Evelyn was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy in Little Falls, class of 1944 and later attended hairdressing school.

She was united in marriage to Joseph Pachut, Sr., on April 10, 1948 at St. Mary’s Church in Little Falls, NY. The couple shared a blessed union of 56 years until the passing of Joseph on April 29, 2004.

Mrs. Pachut was last employed in the Dietary Department of Little Falls Hospital. At one time she worked at Beech Nut and the former Palatine Dye Company.

Evelyn was of the catholic faith and an active member of the St. Johnsville Senior Saints and the Red Hat’s Society.

A woman dedicated to her family, Evelyn always put the needs and concerns of her children and grandchildren first. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and treasured the quality time she spent with her loved ones.

Survivors include a son, Joseph Pachut, Jr. and wife Betty of Lansing, Michigan; a daughter, Mary Gutowski and husband Paul of St. Johnsville; her grandchildren, Jennifer ( Jeff) Lampe, Melissa (Rick) Albanese, Geoff (Kara) Pachut, Eric (Amber) Gutowski and Kristin (Kyle) Smith; her great grandchildren, Mia and Luca Albanese, Paige and Connor Lochner, Karson Gutowski and Mairen Lampe; a brother, William Steinburg of Seattle, Washington; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was pre-deceased by her sisters, Harriet Rathbun, Shirley Urich and Julia MacPherson and her brothers, Harold and James Steinburg.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday January 30, 2020 at 10:00 am from the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge St., St.  Johnsville, NY and at 11:00 am from Holy Family Parish, corner of Main and John Streets, Little Falls, NY where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Terence Healy and assisted by Deacon James Bower. Burial will take place at St. Johnsville Cemetery in the spring. The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Wednesday January 29, 2020 from 5 - 7 pm at funeral home.
