Marguerite Hall Obituary

Fort Plain - Marguerite F. Hall 93, of Fort Plain (Town of Danube), passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27, 2024, at the home of her daughter. She was cared for by her daughter, Roseann, and her grandchildren, George, Maggie, and Angelina Becker as well as by Shannon Emma Coope.

She was born on November 14, 1930, in Herkimer, the daughter of the late Archie and Ruby (Hight) Hoke and was educated locally.

Marguerite was united in marriage to Donald Hall on June 23, 1950, in Richfield Springs, NY. Mr. Hall passed away in 1984.

For over 30 years, Marguerite was the supervisor of the Salvation Army, managing six stores.

Mrs. Hall was of the Christian faith. Marguerite was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Her world was centered around her family. She found much satisfaction when her loved ones were nearby.

Survivors include her children, Donna Knoupf and husband Larry of Mohawk, John (Jack) Hall and Lori of Mohawk, Robin Stritmater of Richfield Springs, Ella Warn and husband Charles of Mohawk, Daniel Hall of Dolgeville, Patricia Paul and husband David of Mohawk, Carole Holleran and husband Kevin of Mohawk and Roseann Wicks of Fort Plain; a sister, Sharon Bosch; a brother, Alfred Hoke; many grandchildren, many great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by her children, Thomas Hall Lorraine Hall-Ortiz; Arthur Hall and Caleb Hall; sisters, Eleanor Hardy, Ethel Eckler, Irene Vandenburg and Helen Healey; brothers, Kenneth Hoke, Ira Hoke, Robert Hoke, Arthur Hoke, Ernest Hoke, Archie Hoke, Jr., Nelson Hoke and John "Jack" Hoke.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Friday, October 4, 2024, from 5 - 7 pm and from 9 - 10 am on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the locally owned and family operated Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to Hannaford Markets), 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY. A prayer service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 10:00 am at the chapel of the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Mohawk Cemetery (in the village). In lieu of flowers please make all memorial contributions to Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave. Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
