Leona Mower Obituary

Herkimer - Leona E. Mower, 91, a long time Pullman Street resident, passed away peacefully on Friday, October, 8, 2021 at her home with her loving family by her side.

She was born April 21, 1930 in Little Falls, the daughter of the late Harvey and Gladys (Eberle) Eckler, and was a graduate of Herkimer High School.

On June 2, 1949, Leona was united in marriage to Glen E. Mower at the First United Methodist Church in Herkimer. The couple shared a blessed union of 67 years until the passing of Glen on January 14, 2016.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needlework and embroidering. She was always making something to be gifted to her family and friends.

Survivors include her devoted son, Ronald Mower and his wife Karen of Herkimer; her cherished grandchildren, John Bubb and his wife Nancy of Camillus, Andrea Lawrence of Ilion, Randi Fike and her husband Kevin of Ilion and Amanda Klink and her husband Jeremy of Herkimer; her cherished great grandchildren, Derek, Dylan, Ethan, Aubrie, Jacob, Samantha, Brian, Adalyn, Julianne, Avery and Wyatt; a brother Fred Eckler and his wife Maureen of Debary, Florida; a son-in-law, John Bubb and his wife Jody of Mohawk; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was pre-deceased by her loving daughter, Gail "Suzie" Bubb on February 19, 1995; her brothers, Robert Eckler of May 17, 2002, Kenneth Eckler on March 9, 2007 and an infant brother Gordie Eckler.
