Kirsten G. Dufford

Herkimer - Kirsten G. Dufford, 94, formerly of Little Falls, NY and New Jersey, passed away on Friday October 11, 2019 at Valley Health Services, with her loving family by her side.

She was born December 28, 1924 in Copenhagen, Denmark, the daughter of the late Paul and Nancy (Paulsen) Gehrs. Kirsten was a graduate of Madison High School in New Jersey and furthered her education at Drexel Business School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

She was married to Frank W. Dufford who preceded her in death on June 8, 2003.

Mrs. Dufford was a United States Army nurse during World War II, enlisting on April 4, 1945 and was honorably discharged on January 16, 1946 with the rank of Technician Fifth Grade.

She was last employed as a paralegal secretary in Madison, New Jersey. Kirsten was of the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Elks Lodge in Flemington, New Jersey.

Kirsten's life was centered around her loved ones, proving herself a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed the quality time she spent with each and every one of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her son Frank W. Dufford, Jr. and wife Lori of Little Falls, NY; three grandchildren, Jessica C. Dufford, Frank P. Dufford and Jacob J. Dufford; six great grandchildren, Maceala, Elijah, Malikye, and Saquoya; Payton and Maci.

She was pre-deceased by a brother, Jack Gehrs.

In keeping with Kirsten's wishes a graveside service will take place on Thursday October 17, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Middle Valley Cemetery, Long Valley, New Jersey. There are no public calling hours. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to NBT Bank), 527 East Albany St., Herkimer, NY.
