Kevin A. Smith

St. Johnsville - Kevin A. Smith, 64, of St. Johnsville (Town of Oppenheim) passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2025, at his home, with his loving family by his side.

Kevin was born on April 3, 1961, in Little Falls, the son of the late Arnold and Bonnie (Pryme) Smith and was educated in St. Johnsville schools.

He was married to Mary Jo Hart on May 27, 2011, in North Carolina.

Mr. Smith was employed at Hart’s Paving in St. Johnsville, NY.

Survivors include his loving wife of 14 years, Mary Jo; a stepdaughter, Chelcey Armstrong and husband Brad; two stepsons, Andrew Bastedo and wife Kayla and Jason Smith and girlfriend Chrissy; a sister, Michele Homkey; a brother, Randy Smith; two grandsons, Gabriel and Jackson; a niece, Stephanie Homkey; a nephew, Trevor Homkey, four great nephews, Ethan, Everett, Julian, and Bodhi and many cousins.

He was pre-deceased by a brother-in-law, James Homkey.

In keeping with Kevin’s wishes, funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of his family. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the locally owned and family operated, Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service (next to the Masonic Lodge) 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY.
