St. Johnsville - Keith H. Handy, 75, of St. Johnsville, NY, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, October 27, 2024.
He was born on May 25, 1949, in Little Falls, NY the son of the late Keith R. and Janice M. (Streed) Handy. Keith was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School and earned his Associate Degree at SUNY Cobleskill.
On August 9, 1969, Keith was united in marriage to Juanita Jones at the Crum Creek Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Mr. Handy was the owner and operator of the Handy Hills Farm on Crum Creek Road in St. Johnsville. His mission work in Haiti was especially fulfilling to him, along with pastoring a small bible-based home church. He was also a part time village cop in St. Johnsville and enjoyed sharing his experiences with his grandkids. Mr. Handy also served on the St. Johnsville school board for a total of 16 years.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Juanita; his devoted children: Dr. Luke Handy and wife Carrie, Mary Kelly O'Hara and husband John, Matthew Handy and wife Ruth, Israel Handy and wife Stacy, and Rachel Brownell and husband Gordon; 18 grandchildren; his sisters: Ann Marie Carter and husband Dr. John (Jack) Carter, Rev. Karen Jones and husband Rev. Tom Jones, and Marta Doxstader and husband Paul, his brothers: Wayne Handy and wife Sue, and Dean Handy and wife Julie; God daughter Julie Eisele and husband Austin; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 2 - 7 pm at the family homestead at 192 Crum Creek Road, St. Johnsville, NY. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11:00 am at St. John's Reformed Church on Main St., St. Johnsville, NY. Burial will follow at the Handy Family Farm Cemetery (Pleasant View Cemetery) on Crum Creek Road in St. Johnsville. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the locally owned and family operated, Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY.
