Karen L. Hutton

Herkimer - Karen L. Hutton, 65, a life long Herkimer resident, passed away peacefully on Monday February 18, 2019 at her home.

She was born July 8, 1953 in Herkimer the daughter of the late Harold L. and Irene (Stempski) Hutton, Sr. Karen was a graduate of Herkimer High School, class of 1971 and furthered her education at Herkimer County Community College where she earned her Associates Degree in Liberal Arts.

For the past 10 years, Karen was employed as a Sales Associate in the Infant Department at Walmart in Herkimer. Prior to that she worked at the former Duofold in Mohawk, and the former Curtains & Fabrics in East Herkimer.

Karen enjoyed the quality time she spent with her family, proving herself a loving and caring sister and aunt. She had a deep affection for all animals especially her dog and cat . In her leisure she was fond of working on crossword puzzles.

Karen is survived by her sisters, Kathryn (Kitty) Cross of Tulsa, OK, Sharon Hutton of Amsterdam, Kay Filipczuk and husband Phillip of Grain Valley, MO, Linda Barney and husband Peter of Potsdam, NY and Terry Moore and husband Joe of Ilion; her brothers, Harold L. (Butch) Hutton, Jr., of Herkimer, Kenneth Hutton of Farmington, NY and Iney Paul of Utica; several nieces and nephews including Casey and Jesse Moore, Chelsea Hutton and Ashley Kelly; and many cousins.

She was pre-deceased by her brother, Petty Officer 3rd Class, Robert Hutton who died serving his country in February 1978, a brother-in-law, Ron Cross and a nephew, Erik Cross.

Funeral services and burial at North Columbia Cemetery will take place later at a time and date to be announced. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to NBT Bank), 527 East Albany St., Herkimer, NY 315-866-1500.
