Joe was a gentle man who worked hard and never complained.  He loved nothing more than a Hockey Game, or a Round of Golf with the guys, he even brought biscuits for the dog, at Pine Hills, where the gang frequented. He was a New York Giants Fan, a die-hard fan of the NHL no matter the game and absolutely loved lazy days with the love of his life Pat, watching any golf for hours. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren immensely. Joe also had a close friendship with his sister and Irish twin, Jane Vooris, with whom he spent many camping trips, and family outings creating beautiful memories.

Joe was generous with his time and his help. Family was everything to Joe. He loved deeply and very practically, always ready to lend a hand. He was a role model and extra father to most of his children’s friends, especially Patti Fikes Kahl and niece Megan, who have both been especially devoted and caring these last few months. They often asked him for advice and help which he freely and lovingly gave.

Above all, Joe was devoted to his wife Pat, whom he lovingly cared for throughout his life and especially as they grew older together.
