Joseph T. (Joe) Ferdula

Frankfort - Joseph T. Ferdula, 83, a longtime Frankfort businessman, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Valley Health Services, Herkimer, NY.

He was born on May 7, 1943, in Ilion, NY, the son of the late Joseph and Julia (Sudakow) Ferdula. Joe graduated from Frankfort - Schuyler High School, class of 1963.

At one time, Joe was married to the former Sharon Stone.

Mr. Ferdula was a United States Army veteran during the Vietnam War. Joe enlisted on November 21, 1966, and was honorably discharged on November 14, 1969, with the rank of SP5.

For over 50 years, Joe was the owner and operator of Ferdula Gravel Products in Frankfort, NY.

He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Berry and husband Tom; three sons, John Ferdula and Cindy Markowicz, Jim Ferdula and wife Missy, and Justin Ferdula and wife Elizabeth; several grandchildren, and great grandchildren, a brother, Daniel Ferdula, and his close friend and caregiver, Kathie A. Vandwalker; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was pre-deceased by two sons, Joseph M. Ferdula and Jesse T. Ferdula.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the locally owned and family operated, Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service (next to Hannaford Markets) 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY. A short prayer service will follow at 1:00 pm at the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frankfort, NY with full military honors accorded. All memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
