Joan E. (Young) Capece

Fort Plain - Joan E. Capece, 79, Fort Plain (Town of Minden), passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown, NY.

 She was born May 11, 1942, the daughter of the late Harlow and Ruth Young. Joan was educated in Canajoharie schools.

 She was married to Richard H. Capece Sr. in July of 1961 at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Fort Plain N.Y 

 For many years, Joan owned and operated Chet's Place in St. Johnsville. Joan was a kind hearted loving amazing woman who will be loved and missed by many.

 Survivors include her husband Richard Capece Sr. of Fort Plain; three sons, Karmen Capece his fiancé Amy Miller, of Canajoharie NY, Kristopher Capece and his wife Connie Capece, of Roseboom NY, Richard Capece Jr. his girlfriend Brenda Crouse of Canajoharie NY, her grandchildren; Willow Capece, Brysen Capece, Jacob Capece, Jeremy Capece, Jesslin Capece, Kristen Hoag, Cassey Sturtevant, 6 step grandchildren; Nathan Moshier, Naomi Moshier, Shania Crouse, Caleb Crouse, Arrionna Crouse, Kenny Crouse  and several nieces, nephews, cousins and 14 great grandchildren.

 She was pre-deceased by a son Kevin Capece on May 24, 2013.

 In keeping with Joan's wishes funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of her family. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY.
