Mystic, CT - Jeannette M. Lukaszewicz, 101, of Mystic, CT, and a former longtime Herkimer resident, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 28, 2025, at the Mystic Healthcare Rehab & Nursing Center, with her daughter near.
She was born on June 10, 1923, in Dolgeville, NY, the daughter of the late Edward and Olga (Levonski) LaBorgne. Jeannette was a graduate of Dolgeville High School, Class of 1941.
On September 6, 1942, Jeannette was united in marriage to Joseph K. Lukaszewicz at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dolgeville. Mr. Lukaszewicz passed away on July 4, 1991.
Mrs. Lukaszewicz was employed at the former MDS in East Herkimer, retiring in 1985. Jeannette was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church in Herkimer, NY. She was also a life member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Village of Herkimer Seniors.
Survivors include her daughters, Joanne Lukaszewicz and husband Jack Leary of Mystic, CT, and Janice Dulak and husband Robert of Williamsport, PA; a son, Joseph Lukaszewicz and wife Mary of Pensacola, FL; her grandchildren Austin Dulak (Arlee) of Reading, MA and Andrew Dulak (Jessica) of Evans City, PA; and three great grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by her son, John Lukaszewicz, on July 14, 2016, and a brother, Edward LaBorgne.
The family would like to thank Hartford HealthCare at Home Hospice Care and the staff of Mystic Healthcare Rehab & Nursing Center for their care of Mrs. Lukaszewicz.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 10:00 am at St. Francis de Sales Church, North Bellinger St., Herkimer, NY. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Herkimer, NY. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the locally owned and family operated, Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to Hannaford Markets), 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY. In lieu of flowers, please make all memorial contributions to the Herkimer County Humane Society, 514 State Route 5s, Mohawk, NY 13407.
