Salisbury Center - James A. Lynch, 78, of Salisbury Center and a former Herkimer resident, passed away peacefully at home with his family on Thursday January 14, 2021.

James was born in Middleville, NY on December 3, 1942, a son of Thomas and Elsa Rath Lynch. He grew up and lived for many years in Middleville, where he attended West Canada Valley School.  

Jim was employed as a truck driver for 30.5 years for Teamsters 182 & 294, driving for Teals Express up until his retirement in September of 1998. He was also owner and operator of J & J Home Maintenance in Herkimer.

Mr. Lynch was a United States Army veteran, enlisting on October 3, 1966 and was honorably discharged on March 1, 1968 with the rank of Sergeant.  

James is survived by his children, Aprile Lynch of Herkimer, Thomas (Tammy) Lynch of Yulee, FL, Tracy & Gilbert Holland  of Punta Gorda, FL, James A Lynch Jr. (Kathleen) of Ballston Spa, NY, Mary Jo (Chip) Potter-Duncan of Fort Myers, FL; his grandchildren: Kaylee Nichols(Nate Alford), Breonna (Austin) Murray, Tanner Nichols, Kayla Lynch, James A Lynch III, Ashley (Sam) Skinner, Tracy Jo (Jason) Barnard, Tasha (Nick) Bohn, Madyson Potter, his great grandsons Abel also know as Fred by Pop-Pop, Luka also know as Ethel by Pop-Pop, Troy Alford, Jameson Murray also know as Ricky by Pop-Pop and 7 other great grandchildren and; his sisters Louise Crowl, Helen Rachon, Theresa Baumes, Florene Cool, Eileen (Bill) Foster and Debra and brothers, Charles Lynch, Larry (Karen) Lynch and Wesley (Kim) Lynch; and nieces, nephews and cousins. Jim is also survived by a special lady whom he loved dearly and took care of, Joann Collins of Herkimer.

James was predeceased by his sister, Lois Rose and two brothers William A. “Bill” Lynch and Arthur “Bud” Lynch.

In keeping with Jim's wishes services will be private. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to NBT Bank), 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY.
