He was born on August 2, 1949, in Little Falls, the son of the late Arthur J. and Jessie (Begley) Keough, Jr. Jim was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School, class of 1968 and furthered his education at Hudson Valley Community College where he earned his associate degree.

Jim was a member of the Former St. Patrick's Catholic Church in St. Johnsville and was a proud 52-year member of the St. Johnsville Volunteer Fire Department.

Jim loved his bowling, even when he hated it. Enjoyed his Wednesday nights with Bill, Holly, Chad, and Isaiah. He also tremendously enjoyed his woodworking, as so many of you know. He really loved to create something that became a family treasure. Jim would also sit and reminisce about his racing days at the Fonda Speedway. He and Don, Albert, and the rest of the St. Johnsville racing gang had many interesting Saturday nights at the track.
