Ivan C. Waufle

St. Johnsville - Ivan C. Waufle, 93, a long time St. Johnsville resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 19, 2021 at the St. Johnsville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, with his devoted family by his side.

 He was born on July 14, 1928 in Nelliston, NY the son of the late Albert and Marian (Keller) Waufle and was educated in St. Johnsville Schools.

 Mr. Waufle was a United States Army veteran, enlisting on December 26, 1945, serving in World War II as a Corporal and in the Korean Conflict being honorably discharged on January 9, 1959 with the rank of Specialist Fourth Class.

 On December 24, 1958, Ivan was united in marriage to Alberta M. Belfance in Nelliston, NY. The couple shared a blessed union of 59 years until the passing of Alberta on July 24, 2017.

 For over 50 years, Ivan worked for Local Union #151 in Schenectady, NY.

 Ivan was a loving and devoted father and grandfather, who always put the needs and concerns of his cherished family first.

 Survivors include his loving children,  Susan Smith and husband Everett of Canajoharie, Donna Rorick and husband James of Fultonville, and William Waufle and wife Rachel of Fort Johnson; seven grandchildren, Steven, Jessica, Shauna, D.J., James, Jr., Matthew and Ethan; several great grandchildren; two sisters, Edna Carter of St. Johnsville, and Phyllis Jones of Buel, NY; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.

 He was pre-deceased by a granddaughter, Bailey Marie Waufle.

 Graveside service with full military honors accorded will be held on Thursday October 28, 2021 at 12:00 pm at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY 12871. There are no public calling hours. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY 518-568-7040.
