Town of Newport - Harold (Dennis) Palmer, 65, of Herkimer (Town of Newport), passed away peacefully on Monday, August 11, 2025, at his home with the love and support of his family by his side.
He was born on January 10, 1960, in Herkimer, the son of the late Harold F. Palmer and the late Vergie L. (Connally) Flansburg and was a graduate of Ogdensburg Free Academy.
On June 15, 1985, Dennis was united in marriage to Caroline Grimes at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Utica, NY.
For many years, Dennis was the owner and operator of Real Property Solutions located in the Town of Newport, NY.
Dennis was a loving husband and caring father. He loved all his family from his brothers, to sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Not to mention all his many friends in his life.
Dennis loved to be out fishing, hunting, and enjoying the peaceful moments outdoors. His favorite sport was duck hunting. He enjoyed this time with his son and his friends.
Most of all, he loved being a servant to Jehovah. He spent most of his time preaching and teaching about God’s Kingdom.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Caroline; his daughter, Cassandra; and his son, Jacob. His mother in-law, Vertise McKnight; and sister in-law, Deanna McKnight. His siblings, Bob (Lila) Palmer; Patty Remonda (Ted - deceased); Mary Palmer. Gary (deceased) and Sonja Flansburg; Janet/Mike (deceased) Flansburg; Judy Regan; Phylis (Tim) Lighthall; Cynthia Blair (deceased); Allyn Madore; Rick Newton (deceased); Debra Davidson; Robert Anderson; Jean Greiner; Nancy Sherman; Cheryl Curthbert; Tom Anderson (deceased); Jim Anderson; Lisa Bovey; Mark Anderson; Beth Anderson; and Claudia Anderson. And thousands of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Dennis’ life will be held on August 30th, 2025, at 1:30 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, located at 585 Trenton Rd, Utica, NY 13502. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the locally owned and family operated, Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to Hannaford Markets), 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY.
