Herkimer - Harold L. (Butch) Hutton, Jr., 72 of Herkimer passed away peacefully on Friday September 10, 2021 at St. Luke' s Medical Center, Town of New Hartford, NY.

 He was born November 14, 1948 in Rome, NY the son of the late Harold L. Hutton, Sr., and Irene (Stempski) Hutton.  Butch was a graduate of Herkimer High School and furthered his education at Herkimer County Community College and received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from SUNY Tech in Utica.

 Mr. Hutton was a United States Navy veteran, enlisting on February 14, 1967 and was honorably discharged on January 15, 1971 with the rank of PR3.

 Until his retirement, Butch was employed for the Town of Frankfort in the accounting department.

 He was a member of the Herkimer Elks Lodge # 1439, Herkimer Polish Community Center and the Michael Pliseck VFW Post #4915 in Herkimer.

 Butch's life was centered around his family, His daughters and grandchildren were his life. He always put the need and concerns of his loved ones first. Harold enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid golfer. 

 Survivors include his daughters, Ashley Kelly of Ilion and Chelsea Hutton of Herkimer; his grandchildren, Troy and Lauren Kelly both of Ilion; his sisters, Kathryn (Kitty) Cross of Tulsa, OK, Sharon Hutton of Amsterdam, Kay Filipczuk of Grain Valley, MO, Linda Barney and husband Peter of Potsdam and Terry Moore and husband Joe of Ilion; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was pre-deceased by a brother, Petty Officer 3rd Class, Robert Hutton who died serving his country in February 1978; a sister, Karen Hutton; brothers in - law, Ron Cross and Phil Filipczuk; and a nephew, Erik Cross.

In keeping with Butch's wishes a celebration of his life will take place at a time to be announced. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to NBT Bank), 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY.
