Greta Ann Webb (Rathbun), age, 50, formerly of St. Johnsville, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on August 4, 2021.

Greta was born on February 21, 1971, the daughter of Roderick and Greta (Pavlot) Rathbun.

Greta attended various local schools prior to enlisting in the US Army where she proudly served for 9 years. Greta values kindness and found joy in giving back to others. She spent much of her free time creating beautiful gifts for those she loved through her skills of crocheting, painting and writing poetry. Greta deeply cherished for friends online, her support through the VA, and her family. Greta was known for her strong –willed spirit which often led to her advocacy fro the various things she cared about.  Greta sincerely believed in supporting her fellow veterans and spent many days helping create the community of VA brothers and sisters she loved and needed. Greta lived a life centered on her love for her family, especially her daughter, Emma and grandson, Benjamin.

She is survived by her loving mother, Greta (Pavlot) Rathbun, father, Roderick (Sharon) Rathbun, siblings, Roderick, (Cathy) Rathbun, John (Angie) Rathbun, half- siblings, Victoria, Andrew, and Nicholas Rathbun; children, Skyler, Viveros, Kaitlyn (Zachary) Burns, Justin Isaac and Emma Stone. Additional survivors include “special” niece, Lindsey Dillenbeck and her partner, Lucas Warner; grandchildren, Hadley and Benjamin Burns and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Greta was pre-deceased by grandparents, Vern (Ike) Herringshaw, Greta Herringshaw, John Rathbun, Elizabeth (Betty) Rathbun, aunts, Joy Biando, Dianne Rathbun and uncles, Frank Pavlot and Mike Rathbun.

A celebration of life for family and friends will be held on August 21, 2021 at the St. Johnsville American Legion from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. Family will be received from 12;00 – 1:00 pm for an intimate service prior to the celebration of life.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Bath VA Medical Center for their years of care and treatment. Memorial contributions can be made to the Bath VA Medical Center, 76 Veterans Ave., Bath, NY 14810.

Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY.
